Vacays

Some people seem to be wondering what the big deal is about cruising. If you're curious, here's a great article about the cost-effective benefits of cruising!

In the meantime, I've been thinking about how great it would be to go on a group trip with some friends. I haven't done so since high school! Well, scratch that - if it counts, we went on a group trip for W&B's wedding in Atlanta - I've never had 11 hours on the road fly by so quick with such great company! So, whatdya say, let's go on a trip together! Besides, we all need to give Mike a good time.. he's been working like 70+ hour weeks and totally deserves to enjoy some days off! Who's up for it? Somewhere in the toasty south? Or maybe Disney World?! Anywhere fun, temperate, and affordable :)

  2. If the trip includes a stop through Nashville, you would have a nice and warm place to stay =)

  3. I'd love to join in! Especially if it's a trip to Disney World...I haven't been there in quite awhile and it's always fun to go there with a ton of people. However, breaks are limited for me so don't factor me into stuff cause I'll definitely throw a wrench into things. We do get the major holidays but unfortunately, no spring break for me this year :(.

  4. @Esther - Lil' Liam's first big vacay? Sure thing :) We'll keep you posted on details if/when this pans out!

@Wayne, @Jess - I was contemplating a trip to Tennessee, but darn that state is long! I was looking for some deals on Kayak, but I'm not sure which city is cheapest to fly into. Thanks for the offer Wayne! Jess, I would love to vacay with you - do you know any dates when you'll be free?

  5. lol, hence now you know why it takes me 5.5hrs minimum to drive from one end to the other ;). Nashville is probably the cheapest place to fly into actually because Southwest flies there and honestly, after my last trip to Nashville it's a pretty cool place and does have quite a bit to do for town that size.
That being said, if you came to Knoxville (continental should still have a direct flight that's not bad), especially around springtime or fall, the Smoky Mountains are BEAUTIFUL (high tourist season I must say).

As for the days I'm free...a much harder question to answer, I must say. I get Nov 20-28th for Thanksgiving and Dec 18th-Jan 2nd for winter break. Those are the only holidays I get this year. Now, here's the thing, I have 4 4-wk blocks that are completely free in my 4th year (I get to do whatever I want with them. SChool or no school. I'll probably use 1 block for my residency interviews and another block for Step II studying but that still means I have 2 option blocks free). So, if ya'll waited until the 4th year, I would be more flexible (but you have to let me know beforehand - at least 30 days beforehand - so I can schedule an option block in). I do get MLK, an Easter break and a spring break next year as well.
