Tired
Anyone have any energy-boosting tips? We've both been so tired lately, despite getting enough sleep. People suggest exercise a lot, but isn't there a learning curve on that? It's always so tiring at first! Another suggestion was taking cold showers... There's gotta be some better stuff out there!

I'd say caffeine but something tells me you guys already got that one covered?
ReplyDeleteI think even slight exercise has benefits? Maybe talk a walk around the block? Shake up and throw a 2L pop bottle while you're at it ;-)
Are you both sick? Mono?
ReplyDeleteI was sick for a week or so, and Joe hasn't been sick for awhile. Maybe I'm exaggerating to say we're tired ALL the time, but we're certainly tired often and regardless of sleep schedules... and caffeine of course! (Pretty reasonable amounts for me - 1-2 cups of coffee a day... Joe's intake is a lot more!) Do you know if there's evidence that particular food/exercise/etc. can help?
ReplyDeleteI read that eating an apple with peanut butter or a peanut butter and banana sandwich can boost energy. Matte is supposed to be a good coffee alternative.
ReplyDeleteI shouldn't give advice though because I'm ALWAYS tired. *sigh*
I find when I'm tired (while studying) that a lot of times it means that my eyes are tired (from reading, looking at a computer screen, etc) so if I just close my eyes and take a few deep breaths, kinda like a 5 min meditation, I feel a whole lot better.
ReplyDeleteAnd as for "exercise", well vigorous exercise has a learning curve but yoga, on the other hand, I've heard can be quite rejuvenating because it's like stretching and deep breathing. Both can have relaxing and calming effects.
Thanks for the tips, everyone! I do really have to get back into yoga and eat some smarter foods :)
